Key takeaways from HubSpot’s UNBOUND 2026
Last updated: 09 October 2026
If you use HubSpot, want HubSpot or simply have heard the name HubSpot, you’ll likely know that UNBOUND (formerly known as INBOUND) is essentially the Super Bowl of the CRM world.
So, it’s no wonder they brought out seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady as a speaker!
For fifteen years, HubSpot’s INBOUND conference laid the foundation for inbound marketing and customer relationship management. But as growth moved beyond linear funnels toward connected systems, AI-driven execution, and unified go-to-market teams, the event evolved into UNBOUND. Over three jam-packed days in Boston, UNBOUND uncovered all of the latest HubSpot updates, upgrades and new tools… and we’re going to share them with you.
HubSpot is not only a big part of what we do at Refuel, its presence is expanding out of this world… bringing NASA Astronaut Suni Williams (see what we did there..?), Wicked’s Cynthia Erivo and award-winning author Mel Robbins to the main stage as well. While we’re still working on getting a guernsey to the event, UNBOUND was far too big to ignore.
We made sure our HUG event was all about the event with HubSpot’s Lead Enablement Trainer, Rohan Banga, joining our CEO Ryan Jones, to talk about all the shiny new releases, break down what actually matters, and figure out how to put these updates to work in the real world.
Here is our complete recap of what was covered during our live HUG, plus a few extra game changing updates and event highlights from UNBOUND that you should know about!
Moving from “tech-maxxing” to business outcomes
One of the most relatable moments from UNBOUND’s opening keynote, delivered by HubSpot CEO Yamini Rangan was acknowledging the massive AI overwhelm everyone is feeling right now.
Yamini highlighted that we’ve landed in what tech leaders call the “tech-maxxing” phase, that frantic period during any technological shift when businesses adopt every new tool, plug in, and app simply because it exists. Think NFTs and segways.
Today, while 90% of companies are using AI, only 6% are seeing real business transformation. The secret sauce of that 6% isn't asking "what can AI do?". It's asking "what outcome are we trying to improve?"
HubSpot's data proved that point with a stark warning. Bad context is worse than no AI at all, driving Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) down by 28% and closed deals down by 31%.
What this means for you: When you feed AI clean CRM data, clear buyer personas, and strong brand guidelines, it acts as a genuine force multiplier, generating 5X more MQLs and closing 4.1X more deals.
What we are excited to see
During our HUG, Rohan walked us through three major product announcements from UNBOUND, including brand new features like Marketing Studio and Deal Progression, alongside a majorly upgraded Context Home and Agent Hub.
The new Marketing Studio
Marketing Studio brings your entire marketing workflow into one unified command centre. Rather than jumping between five different tabs, marketers can feed a single campaign goal into Breeze Assistant to automatically generate a full campaign brief, complete with target personas, KPIs, and asset plans.
From there, Content Agent drafts the assets (including blogs, social posts, landing pages), while Nurture Agent dynamically rewrites email copy and CTAs based on live CRM activity, moving far beyond simple "first name" personalisation tokens.
What this means for you: Marketing Studio connects all your disconnected tools into a single workspace. Instead of spending days writing briefs and copying text across platforms, your team can plan, create, and launch full multi-channel campaigns in minutes, leaving the heavy admin lifting to AI while you focus on strategy.
Deal progression & the self-updating CRM
Sales reps spend upwards of 70% of their time on "invisible work" like logging notes and updating CRM fields after calls. Deal Progression in HubSpot fixes this admin bottleneck.
By pulling transcripts from call recorders (whether you're using HubSpot's native tool, Zoom, Teams, or integrations like Aircall, another one of our core partners), HubSpot automatically suggests CRM updates, moves deal stages, identifies missing methodology fields and drafts follow up emails for reps to approve in one click. Alongside this, the Prospecting Agent continuously monitors target accounts for key buying signals and drafts personalised outreach, while the Revenue Agent automates collections and payment reminders without disrupting sensitive buyer relationships.
What this means for you: Being able to get all that activity logging synced up creates a richer context layer, making the AI tools significantly smarter at supporting your team. It eliminates hours of tedious data entry for sales reps after every meeting, and by automating CRM updates and follow-ups, your sales team gets hours back every week to focus on actual selling.
Context Home & Agent Hub
Agent Hub is HubSpot's centralised control centre where you activate, manage, and monitor all your AI agents in one place, at its core is Context Home. The single source of truth where you feed HubSpot your business context, including value propositions, ICPs, sales methodologies, and competitor analysis. The better the context you put into this Hub, the more accurate and human your AI outputs will be.
What this means for you: Feeding detailed context into Context Home is like onboarding a brand new, highly capable human team member. By taking a little time to teach HubSpot about your business, the AI agents can handle routine admin tasks independently, giving your human staff more time to work on high-value, strategic projects while the "robots" handle the mundane admin.
Beyond the HUG: major UNBOUND announcements
UNBOUND 2026 introduced huge platform updates that went far beyond what we could cover in a single hour during our HUG, so we’ve added a few more that we think are worth talking about.
Out with the funnel, in with The Loop
Traditional organic website traffic is dropping as more people move to ChatGPT, TikTok, and Reddit for their searches. In order to stay up-to-date, HubSpot has officially retired the linear inbound funnel in favour of The Loop framework (Express, Tailor, Amplify, Evolve). The focus has shifted from chasing raw page views to Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and capturing high-intent AI referral traffic.
(P.S. If The Loop sounds familiar, we hosted a dedicated masterclass on how to put HubSpot's Loop Marketing to work for your business. Check out our Loop Marketing HUG session here).
Next gen automation
- Customer Agent Voice: Going way beyond text-based chat, HubSpot unveiled an AI voice agent that fields phone calls, identifies callers, checks CRM context, books appointments, and passes full summary transcripts directly to human reps.
- HubSpot Work: A centralised internal workspace that merges tasks, project management, and CRM activities into one view, giving teams an integrated alternative to tools like Asana or ClickUp.
Native ChatGPT & Ad integrations
- Native ChatGPT & Microsoft Ads integrations: HubSpot became the first CRM to bring ChatGPT Ads directly into the platform, allowing marketers to build, launch, and manage AI-based ad campaigns alongside traditional search channels with full deal and contact attribution inside HubSpot.
- Object-agnostic workflows: Workflow builders in Agent Hub are no longer tied rigidly to specific objects. You can now build automations using natural language that trigger actions across custom events and related records seamlessly.
Revenue Hub & financial visibility
For RevOps leaders and CFOs, HubSpot launched Contracts as a native object. This allows teams to track committed revenue, payment schedules, renewals, MRR/ARR, and revenue-at-risk all inside HubSpot, eliminating the need for manual spreadsheet translations between CRM and accounting software. Because if there's one thing RevOps and marketing teams will miss, it's manually copying and pasting messy financial data between five different spreadsheets on a Friday afternoon... NOT!
What this means for you: Marketing, sales, and finance teams can finally view true contract and revenue data side-by-side on the same dashboard without wrestling external financial tools.
I know, we’re excited too…
But rather than turning on ten new tools at once, and playing around with every new platform feature, HubSpot suggests starting with a simple framework.
Pick one outcome: What single result matters most right now?
Check your context: Do you have clean CRM data, accurate personas, and clear brand guidelines ready in HubSpot?
Define the human review point: Decide exactly where a human team member reviews, approves, or improves the AI output before it goes live.
