Join the team as our new Web Developer
Last updated: 15 December 2025
We’re looking for an Adelaide-based Web Developer with significant expertise, who can bring a fresh perspective to our team.
This is a dynamic and varied role, and as our Web Developer you’ll primarily be working on web apps, API integrations, and HubSpot related products. There will also be development projects, including websites in WordPress, HubSpot CMS, Shopify and BigCommerce.
What level of experience do you need?
You will need to be experienced, with at least 2-3 years of industry experience under your belt. You will be skilled in HTML/CSS, JavaScript/node.js, React and PHP, plus managing code in GitHub.
You will also have strong experience with server and database management. Experience managing Google Cloud or Amazon Web Services cloud-based infrastructure and serverless platforms is desirable.
Refuel Creative is a team environment. It’s one of our core values. As such, you’ll be expected to work with our clients and our team to develop products that connect with their target customers. You will also work with our remote Web Developers to deliver the highest standard of client outcomes.
As our in-house Web Developer, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a range of internal projects and shape our look and feel for the future.
This is a great opportunity for you to strengthen your skills in a range of different mediums - web, mobile apps, serverless code, integrations, and more. We want someone who cares about the user experience, and how users interact with their work, so we can drive the highest performance and conversion rates.
If you are creative at your core, always looking for any excuse or opportunity to flex your skills, we want to work with you!
What will you be doing?
As our Web Developer, your purpose is to work as part of a team to bring our customer’s visions to life online. Your work is designed to help our clients grow their organisations - increase their sales, donations, leads and clients.
You will work on a variety of projects right from the start. These projects will vary from more simple websites, through to complex web apps and API integration projects. During the design phase, you will work with the rest of our team to have input and give feedback to ensure the website design is feasible and follows web accessibility guidelines.
You’ll work across a mix of platforms, building websites in WordPress, BigCommerce, Shopify and HubSpot. This will involve creating and maintaining custom plugins and developing complex integrations and API connections.
Key projects for this role include:
- Building websites and themes in HubSpot and WordPress
- A range of API integration projects between HubSpot and third party systems
- A range of HubSpot related design and development projects
You will need to write and maintain your technical documentation. Part of your role is identifying opportunities to grow our web development services and develop related products, so maintaining clean documentation is critical as we grow our team of developers. Everything we build should be maintained long into the future. Clear and concise technical documentation is critical to that.
You will also flex your design skills, ensuring that we continue to develop easy to use, accessible, well-designed, and industry-leading websites.
A bit about Refuel…
We’re not your typical agency. We are one of Adelaide’s fastest growing agencies (don’t take our word for it, speak to Fast Movers SA and HubSpot).
Our 3-year plan has growth goals AND a goal to be the best place for Adelaide marketers to work. And we mean it - we may not always get it right, but it’s our goal to be the best place for you to work. A place where you can develop, where you can balance your work and home life, and where you can do your best work. We are committed to that goal.
Our team enjoys work-life balance. We care about our team and our customers, and want team members who share those values.
We don’t have Account Managers, which allows our team to communicate directly with the client they’re working with.
We run on the Entrepreneurial Operating System. This provides us with the tools to drive our growth. Change is a part of what we do, and we encourage suggestions and solutions to make the company run better, and for our team to enjoy their work more.
We work with clients in Australia, New Zealand, and the United States. We were recognised as one of SA’s top 25 Fastest Movers in 2022, a 2019 Telstra Business Awards finalist, HubSpot’s 2019 Rookie of the Year for APAC, three time HubSpot Impact Award Winners, and organisers of Digital Adelaide.
Some great reasons to work at Refuel include:
- Flexible working arrangements: Work from home or remote as needed, work the hours you need. Our team works from different locations at times that suit their lives. This role can be offered 0.6-1.0 FTE, and your work hours each day are flexible. Perfect for school drop offs & pick ups, fitting in the gym, or getting to sports practice.
- Friday team lunch: Share a meal and a drink at the end of the week with your colleagues at one of the many eateries around Port Adelaide.
- Our fast growth creates opportunities for you: Do the work, and you’ll create the opportunities for your own promotion and development path.
- Professional development and training opportunities: Dedicated PD time, and access to training from our partners.

Who shouldn’t apply?
Not everyone is a good fit for our team, and that’s okay. We get it. So we’d rather cover it off early. Who shouldn’t apply for this position?
- Those looking for a short-term fling. Something temporary until the next big thing. We get attached to our people, we invest in our people, so we want those that join our team to respect that and become part of our growth.
- People who don’t share our values. Who don’t value their colleagues, or think they’re better than everyone else. Those people who think they’re too good for the occasional admin task, or to pitch in and help.
- Developers who are looking for their big break, but have yet to break through for a senior role.
- People who find the I in team. You need to work with your teammates, not against them.
If you want to discuss the position before applying, book a time to talk to Ryan.
