But what got us here won't get us to where we're going next. That's exactly why we need our first-ever General Manager! We want you to take the reins and help us grow into a 24/7 global marketing agency. The whole team is so excited to welcome this new role and see the amazing impact you'll have.
The foundation is set, now we scale
Over the last two years, we have been heads-down rebuilding a rock-solid foundation. We’ve boosted our financials and built our processes to ISO 9001 standards. We acquired a business. We empowered our amazing team of 16 so they can manage delivery smoothly on their own.
We did the heavy lifting to create a stable base. Now, we need an inspiring leader with great financial and people skills. We want you to take ownership, boost our margins, and drive healthy growth.
This is a brand new role! There is no predecessor, no legacy structure to work around, and no politics to navigate. You will shape this position from day one.
What you'll be doing
As our General Manager, you will be the engine that keeps Refuel moving forward. Your core focus areas will include:
- Owning the P&L: You’ll be accountable for financial performance, margin improvement, project returns, pricing discipline, and resourcing. You'll know exactly which services drive revenue and act on that data.
- Running the day-to-day: You will work closely with our Operations Manager to tighten our systems. Together, you'll build the mature workflows we need to take our delivery global.
- Driving sales success: You’ll set our sales goals and keep the team on track with revenue targets. You will also coach them to win larger, more exciting deals.
- Leading our people: You will guide our leadership group and manage hiring and performance. You'll also protect our flexible, honest culture while adding the structure a growing business needs.
- Executing the growth roadmap: We built a roadmap based on deep analysis, but we haven't locked it in stone. I want your experience and perspective to challenge it, improve it, and ultimately make it yours.
The Visionary / Integrator dynamic
If you know the EOS business framework, you’ll understand the structure we want to build. I, as CEO, am the Visionary; you will be the Integrator.
I will focus on our big-picture vision, market position, and key partnerships. I'll also manage high-level client relationships and dive back into specialist sales and delivery work.
You will take over the P&L, daily workflows, sales accountability, people management, and service quality. We will hold each other accountable in a true partnership. This means neither of us has to carry the full weight of the business alone! I will set you up properly and give you the freedom to succeed.

Who we are looking for
We are looking for a hands-on leader who loves growth and thrives on accountability.
- 10+ years of experience, with at least 5 years in leadership or general management.
- Agency, SaaS, or professional services background. You deeply understand team capacity economics and how service businesses actually make money.
- Strong values alignment. You must be a team player who lives and breathes the Refuel values.
- Real financial acumen with a track record of owning a P&L and managing margins.
- A proven people leader who has earned the trust of high-performing, distributed teams.
- Based in Adelaide, SA (or willing to relocate) for a flexible hybrid role.
(We'll give you bonus points if you know HubSpot, EOS Integrator roles, or how to manage global teams. Experience scaling businesses past $5M is also a huge plus!)
