How long is my data retained in Canva?

If you're using Canva Enterprise, here's what you need to know about how Canva handles your organisation's data.

Enterprise data retention

Canva retains enterprise customer data according to:

  • The terms specified in your Enterprise Agreement
  • Their standard Trash retention period (verify the current duration in Canva's documentation)
  • The termination or expiry conditions outlined in your agreement

What happens when your agreement ends?

When your Canva Enterprise Agreement terminates or expires, Canva will:

  1. Return all your organisation's data to you (if requested), or
  2. Securely delete all personal data from their systems

This includes any personal data processed on behalf of your organisation, such as:

  • User credentials
  • Contact information
  • Content created by your team members
  • Any other personal data included in designs

Trash retention period

Canva's standard Trash retention period is 14 days for all enterprise customers (verify the current duration in Canva's documentation). Deleted content moves to Trash, and you have 14 days to restore it before it is permanently deleted and unrecoverable.

  • Deleted content moves to Trash
  • You have 14 days to restore deleted items
  • After 14 days, content is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered

Important note: If you need to recover accidentally deleted content, contact us within the active Trash retention window and we will help you work with Canva's support team to recover your content.
